Don’t Erase! Masking in Photoshop

Skill level

If you’ve ever touched the Eraser Tool in Photoshop, you’re doing it wrong! With the many non-destructive tools that are available in Photoshop, every edit you make should easily be reversible, including erasing. Let me show you how Layer Masks can replace your eraser. Layer Masking in Photoshop will save you a ton of time!

Using the Eraser Tool in Photoshop will certainly remove parts of your layers, but it’s very destructive! Once you close that document, that data is lost forever! Layers Masks allows you to hide, instead of erase. This gives you the ability to reveal that later on, if needed.
