Merging Shape Layers in Photoshop CS6

Another one of Photoshop CS6′s smaller additions, users now have the ability to merge shape layers, and keep their vector properties! Very exciting feature!

For those who don’t use/own Illustrator, this addition is certainly going to be a welcome one. Being able to finally merge your shape layers, and keep their vector properties is very exciting!

I knew that you could do this before hand but keeping the vector properties so if you then resize them is just amazing. There has been so many times where I have had to merge something and needed to copy the layers and hide them in a folder as a back up if I needed to make any size revisions. Knowing this is really cool it will save me so much time in the future when I get CS6. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you. This explains it perfectly. I sometimes don’t want to open Ilustrator for minor shapes in PS.
